Los suecos CRUZH vuelven tras un largo esperar desde el lanzamiento de su primer y fantástico disco en 2016, cinco años han tardado en traernos su nueva obra titulada TROPICAL THUNDER y además con nuevo vocalista, Alex Waghom, sustituyendo a Tony Anderson, eso sí, de nuevo y como no podía ser de otra manera bajo el sello Frontiers Records. Una banda con un talento formidable, practicando un envidiable Rock melódico de mucho nivel con el cual ya nos impresionaron en su álbum debut con ciertos guiños a Def Leppard y en este disco nuevo, por supuesto, siguen en su línea y con el sello inconfundible de su sonido.
Comienza el disco con Tropical Thunder dando título al disco y, la verdad, es que es un trallazo de Hard Rock vertiginoso, cargado de fuerza y garra con grandes punteos a toda velocidad, una intensa y espectacular apertura de obra sin duda.
Bajamos vatios con We Go Together, más en la onda de lo que es Cruzh habitualmente, más melódica y pausada, con buenas armonías vocales y un efectivo estribillo, todo ello arropado con unos buenos coros, un tema de puro Rock melódico.
En Turn Back Time disfrutaremos de un tema corto, pero realmente bueno, con unos matices muy ochenteros, buenas armonías vocales aupadas con coros finos que decoran y realzan esta pista junto a un buen trabajo de guitarra, lleno de riffs de gran calidad que nos enamorarán en su primera escucha.
Llega Are You Ready, claramente con sonido Leppard, o, mejor dicho, “Mutt Lange”, con esos coros y esos ritmos que paran, avanzan, siguen y culminan con un estribillo adictivo. La verdad es que este tipo de temas gustan y mucho, personalmente a mí me encantan, tienen algo, esa esencia ochentera que encandila a cualquiera.
Es el momento de ponerse tierno con Cady, una balada con unas fantásticas notas de piano y voz, así sin más, y que nos tocará la fibra por su melodía tristona. Balada sencilla, sin complicaciones, pero efectiva.
Con New York Nights disfrutaremos de unos de los cortes más Aor, con una impresionante atmosfera y profusión de teclados increíble, armoniosa y melódica por los cuatro costados, un exquisito tema que sin duda será de los que más gustan del disco.
También como corte similar al anterior tema nos encontramos con All You Need, otra pieza de puro Aor con unos sintetizadores punzantes y con un estribillo muy pegadizo que una vez acabado el disco se nos vendrá a la mente con facilidad, son de esas canciones que se te meten y estas unos días con ella dentro.
Line In The Sand, un medio tiempo que suena algo inquietante, tenebroso, hasta llegar al estribillo, sencillo, pero con gancho y donde ya casi al final de la canción se desatan con algo más de velocidad y un buen solo de guitarra para rematar de nuevo con la facilidad de su estribillo.
Algo distinto suena Moonshine Bayou, más Hard rockera gracias a un riff de guitarra muy sórdido, con mucha distorsión, y donde tropezamos también con unas teclas Hammond acompañando durante varias fases del tema, mucha marcha para mover el esqueleto.
Llega la elegantísima Paralyzed, otro super medio tiempo con aroma a mega balada, pero sin llegar a esos límites tan dramáticos. Muy atmosférica y muy Aor, lleva la melodía por bandera tanto en estribillos como en trazos vocales.
Y para finalizar esta obra tenemos N.R.I.C, un tema acústico, sencillo, nada del otro mundo, pero donde sí debo destacar el trabajo vocal de Alex Waghon y las voces adicionales que arropan su voz principal y que demuestran que encaja perfectamente en esta banda.
CRUZH da una magnífica continuación a lo que fuera su gran álbum debut con este nuevo trabajo en el cual están todos los elementos necesarios para disfrutar de un disco de auténtico nivel. Disfrutaremos de su pomposidad, de sus melodías, de los acertados teclados y de sus buenos estribillos, además de descubrir a su nuevo vocalista que, no solo da la talla, sino que encaja perfectamente en la banda. ¡Muy recomendado!

The Swedes CRUZH return after a long wait since the release of their first and fantastic album in 2016, five years have taken to bring us their new work entitled TROPICAL THUNDER and also with new vocalist, Alex Waghom, replacing Tony Anderson, yes, again and how could it be otherwise under the label Frontiers Records. A band with a formidable talent, practicing an enviable melodic Rock of a high level with which they already impressed us in their debut album with certain nods to Def Leppard and in this new album, of course, they continue in their line and with the unmistakable stamp of their sound.
The album begins with Tropical Thunder giving title to the album and, the truth is that it is a blast of vertiginous Hard Rock, full of strength and grit with great punctuations at full speed, an intense and spectacular opening of work without a doubt.
We go down watts with We Go Together, more in the wave of what is usually Cruzh, more melodic and paused, with good vocal harmonies and an effective chorus, all wrapped with a good chorus, a theme of pure melodic Rock.
In Turn Back Time we will enjoy a short song, but really good, with some very eighties nuances, good vocal harmonies with fine choruses that decorate and enhance this track along with a good guitar work, full of riffs of great quality that will make us fall in love at first listen.
Are You Ready arrives, clearly with Leppard sound, or, better said, «Mutt Lange», with those choruses and those rhythms that stop, advance, continue and culminate with an addictive chorus. The truth is that this kind of songs are very much liked, personally I love them, they have something, that eighties essence that dazzles anyone.
It’s time to get tender with Cady, a ballad with fantastic piano notes and voice, just like that, and that will touch our hearts with its sad melody. A simple ballad, uncomplicated, but effective.
With New York Nights we will enjoy one of the most Aor cuts, with an impressive atmosphere and profusion of incredible keyboards, harmonious and melodic on all four sides, an exquisite theme that will undoubtedly be one of the most liked of the album.
Also as a cut similar to the previous theme we find All You Need, another piece of pure Aor with some piercing synthesizers and a very catchy chorus that once finished the album will come to mind easily, are one of those songs that you get into and you’re a few days with her inside.
Line In The Sand, a half time that sounds somewhat disturbing, dark, until the chorus, simple, but with hook and where almost at the end of the song are unleashed with some more speed and a good guitar solo to finish again with the ease of the chorus.
Moonshine Bayou sounds a bit different, more hard rock thanks to a very sordid guitar riff, with a lot of distortion, and where we also stumble with some Hammond keys accompanying during several phases of the theme, a lot of march to move the skeleton.
Then comes the very elegant Paralyzed, another super mid-tempo song with the aroma of a mega ballad, but without reaching such dramatic limits. Very atmospheric and very Aor, it carries the melody by flag both in choruses and in vocal lines.
And to finish this work we have N.R.I.C, an acoustic theme, simple, nothing from the other world, but where I must highlight the vocal work of Alex Waghon and the additional voices that wrap his main voice and that demonstrate that he fits perfectly in this band.
CRUZH gives a magnificent continuation to what was their great debut album with this new work in which there are all the necessary elements to enjoy an album of authentic level. We will enjoy its pomposity, its melodies, the right keyboards and its good choruses, as well as discovering their new vocalist who not only gives the size, but fits perfectly in the band.
